Spring Green

It's 76 degrees and beautiful! I aimed to to spend the whole day outside today, and came pretty close to it. My to-do list didn't get any shorter, but it will have to wait... Spring doesn't last long.

Rode the bike around OS and over to the kayak. Kayaked to the gulf, a trip I haven't done in a while. I was going against both the wind and the tide going out, so going back was easy. As you can see the azaleas are in bloom. The trees have the young green leaves out and there are new shades of green everywhere.

GREAT PICS! Whats the best way for me to get into kayaking over in MS? ...moving to Biloxi in a few weeks.

Great place to move to with a kayak! Depends if you like salt water, fresh water; bayous or bays; the sound or the gulf; choppy water or smooth water...

I'd start out in the back bay, or around the Biloxi-OS bridge, or out to Deer Island... the Pascagoula River is great too. Lots of choices. Drop a line with your email and maybe I could show you Graveline bayou on a weekend.

Wow Anna, great photos. I got a bit away from your blog when there was a long time between posts and I thought maybe you weren't blogging. I come back today and yikes!

The center photo in an earlier post, the one with the light beams hitting the pier, is one of the best photos I have ever seen ANYWHERE. It's about perfect. (I was going to comment there but didn't want to follow the rambling comment from anonymous....)

Love what you've been up to!

I'm considering a visit to Bay St. Louis (nothing definite) and started looking for nearby kayaking. After going through your site, I feel like I know the area pretty well already! Thanks for doing such a beautiful job.

I loved how you captured your GPS tracks and overlaid them on aerial photos. There's a big article on that in the current issue (June 2008) of Backpacker magazine. You might enjoy that.

By the way, if you're still trying to identify the birds on your 2007 site, the second bird (right after the white heron) is a Least Bittern. I saw one on an Audubon trip to Cape May, NJ. I checked it by looking at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Least_Bittern) and the Flikr external link at the bottom of that page.

Thanks again for a great site!
